While many recording artists strive for consistency, Alana’s performances are rarely the same. This is by design. She uses a custom software instrument (Max/MSP) that modulates her voice into slightly different tones each time.

I wanted her album’s photography to reflect that. A fleeting and distorted quality. Prisms were the obvious choice—it’s in the title, after all.
